A Stud Can Make Your Project Stall!
Home improvement projects are always a joy to handle because at the end of it all you boost the look of the home and make it more appealing. However, the project is not as easy as you think. You might find yourself stuck just because of something as small as a stud.
At times, you need to find a stud that is behind a finished wall – a task that many people find next to impossible. Something that is also harder than finding the stud behind the walls is a stud that is behind a tile. If you are in this situation, you might be in for a very long day, especially if you don’t have the right tools to do so.
You need to know roughly, where the stud might be located. This step is to help you narrow down to an area that will not require you to take ages before you get the stud.
The wall that contains the stud must have two sides to it – you have to use both sides to locate the stud.
Start by sweeping across the area that you have marked using a stud finder from Stud Locator. A stud locator is a tool that helps you find the stud among the many components in the wall. Make sure the stud locator is switched on and working perfectly.
Run the stud locator in slow, calculated sweeps across this area. If you find the stud in the first sweep, mark the location. Continue sweeping, because at times you find more than one stud in the same location.
Go to the back wall and start sweeping the wall again using the locator. Make sure you target the same area that you used before and sweep the area as well. If you locate the stud in the same point similar to the perpendicular wall, then you are in luck.
After locating the stud, you need to find a way to access it, that is if you aim to remove it. If you are installing something and you need to avoid the stud, then it is so that you mark the point and avoid the point.
The stud locator helps you find studs that were fixed a long time ago even before you bought the house. It also helps you to identify the position of the stud when installing something on the wall.
